Berlin (dpa / bb) - After an alleged arson by strangers, a parked car in Alt-Hohenschönhausen was destroyed by flames.

A resident observed several dark-clad people at the car in Freienwalder Strasse early on Sunday morning, the police announced on Sunday.

A little later the car burned.

Firefighters put out the fire, but were unable to prevent the vehicle from burning out, the message said.

A car parked behind it was damaged by the heat.

The State Criminal Police Office is investigating suspected arson.

In Berlin, cars are always set on fire at night.

Only on Saturday night were two cars burned out in an underground car park in Tempelhof.
