Erfurt (dpa / th) - The Federal Garden Show in Erfurt was visited by 15,000 people on its first three days.

Up to 90 percent of them were season ticket holders from the Erfurt region, Buga managing director Kathrin Weiß told the German press agency on Sunday.

She is very satisfied with the number of visitors in view of the long uncertainty as to whether and under what conditions the garden show should even open during the corona pandemic.

The Buga with its two locations on the former Petersberg fortress and the Egapark was opened on Friday.

There was massive criticism from visitors at the weekend because of the lack of corona test options in Erfurt.

At test sites in the city, the influx was so great that numerous people were sent away again.

So they were denied the Buga visit.

According to the stricter anti-corona rules that have been in force since Saturday, a negative rapid test is required for Buga guests due to the high number of new corona infections.
