  In its statement, the Security Council issued the most severe condemnation of this "extremely criminal and cowardly" terrorist attack. The Security Council reiterated that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.

The Security Council emphasized that the perpetrators, organizers, funders and supporters of this terrorist attack must be held accountable.

The Security Council urges all countries to fulfill their obligations under international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, and actively cooperate with the Pakistani government and relevant parties to help bring those responsible for the attack to justice.

  The Security Council emphatically pointed out in the statement that no matter what the motive, no matter when and where, no matter who initiated it, any terrorist act is a crime and cannot be justified for any reason.

All countries need to use all means to fight against terrorist acts that threaten international peace and security in accordance with the provisions of the United Nations Charter and relevant international laws.

  The UN Secretary-General Guterres also issued a statement through a spokesperson a few days ago, strongly condemning this terrorist attack and extending condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Pakistan and the government.

He reiterated that the United Nations firmly supports the Pakistani government and people’s efforts to deal with terrorism and violent extremism.

  Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on the 22nd that Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rongzheng led a delegation to visit Quetta.

When the attack occurred, the Chinese delegation was not in the hotel.

Up to now, no reports of casualties of Chinese citizens in the attack have been received.
