The department demands to remove all restrictions as soon as possible, as well as to explain the reasons for their introduction, ”the statement says.

They recalled that ignoring the warnings entails the imposition of administrative fines of up to 1 million rubles.

“A repeated refusal to comply with the requirements will entail a multiple increase in fines - up to 3 million rubles,” the department added.

On April 23, YouTube blocked four videos on the English RT channel, allegedly for misinformation about COVID-19.

At the same time, the administration of the video hosting did not explain what exactly from the video is “disinformation”.

Earlier, the press service of Roskomnadzor reported that the department records regular censorship by the YouTube administration in relation to content, including videos, "which convey to the viewers of the video hosting a position that differs from the position adopted in the West."
