TESTIMONY

The emotion is strong in Rambouillet, the day after the attack at the police station in the city of Yvelines.

49-year-old Stéphanie, a police official, was stabbed by the assailant, a 36-year-old Tunisian.

Seriously injured in the carotid artery, the one who had worked for more than 20 years in Rambouillet succumbed on the spot to her injuries, despite the intervention of the firefighters.

At the microphone of Europe 1, Geraldine, one of her friends and colleagues, describes a bright person and appreciated by all.

Her daughters and her husband were "everything for her"

"Stéphanie was really the pearl of the police station, always present, always ready to help everyone", testifies Geraldine.

And to underline the deep attachment of the victim to his family, in particular to his two children of 13 and 18 years old.

"When we entered her office, on the left, there was the portrait of her daughters. When she spoke of them, she always had a big smile. Her daughters and her husband, you could see that it was all for it."

stabbed in Rambouillet: what we know about the profile of the attacker

On Friday, Stéphanie was attacked in the entrance hall of the police station, as she was returning after exiting to change her parking disc.

"Every day, between noon and two, she would go out to change her record in her car. Every day, she would go out at the same time. So, obviously, it was very easy for someone watching the police station to spot habits and people, "says Geraldine, who points out the lack of security in the building.

A lack of security?

"There has always been a problem with this airlock," she says.

"We often had to wait a long time for the first door to be opened for us, and sometimes a long time for the second door to be opened for us. Sometimes we could get stuck there for a minute, and a minute can be long. "

"We have made the remark several times that this police station lacked security," said Geraldine.

Before concluding, in a low voice: "I should have worked that day, it could have been me."
