1 Park protection made way for the project, causing national-level geological heritage sites and protected area land to be used for mining and real estate development in violation of regulations
Fengshan Karst Geopark is located in Hechi, Guangxi. It was approved as a national geopark by the former Ministry of Land and Resources in September 2005. It was approved as a global geopark by UNESCO in October 2010. It is currently the only global geopark in Guangxi. It has unique geological relics such as the world's large stalagmites, the world's skylights, the world's highest underground karst canyon, the second-span natural bridge in China, the ancient mystery mandarin duck spring and other unique geological relics, which have extremely high aesthetic value, scientific value, and popular science value.

Liangli Quarry is located in the third-level protection zone of the park. However, the relevant departments of Fengshan County have disregarded the protection regulations and issued "The block does not belong to the scope of the geological relics protection register", and the mining right certificate was issued for it.
In the planning, the county government opened the openings for the development of minerals, adjusted the quarrying sites in the area out of the geological park, and planned them into mining areas.
On-site inspection found that Liangli quarry has been savagely exploited in violation of regulations for a long time, causing serious ecological damage.
Due to ineffective supervision, in the Poxiongbao quarry near the world-class heritage site of Yuanyang Cave, illegal pirate mining of marble resulted in excavation of the mountain and serious ecological damage.
Real estate development in violation of regulations has severely damaged the geology and landforms.
The Fengshan County Party Committee and the county government ignored the requirements of geopark protection and management and implemented real estate development in the name of tourism development. Three real estate projects have been launched in the geopark protection area.
