Completion of my country's first domestically-made large aircraft production test flight center
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 24. The reporter learned from China Railway Construction Co., Ltd. that my country’s first domestically-made large aircraft production and test center, the COMAC Jiangxi Production and Test Center, was fully completed on the 24th, marking my country’s A relatively complete industrial chain of large aircrafts has been formed from scientific research and design, production and test flight to delivery and operation.
According to Zhang Mingcan, head of the COMAC project of the China Railway 18th Bureau Group, COMAC Jiangxi Production Test Flight Center is located in the core area of Nanchang Aviation City in Jiangxi Province. Its main function is to undertake the production test flight support and operation guarantee of domestic ARJ21 aircraft.
The project covers an area of 245,000 square meters and a construction area of approximately 46,000 square meters. It mainly includes 16 building units and apron areas, including the delivery center, the completion center, and the painting hangar.
After the project is officially put into production, it can achieve the production capacity target of about 30 aircrafts completed and delivered each year.
The completion of the center is of great significance for accelerating the commercialization of domestically produced large aircraft.
