Berlin (dpa / lrs) - In Saarland, according to figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), 55 new infections with the corona virus were registered within one day.

Since the pandemic began more than a year ago in the country, there have been 35,976 laboratory-confirmed infections, as the RKI announced on Saturday morning (as of 3:10 a.m.).

The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within 7 days was 139.0.

The number of people in Saarland who died in connection with Covid-19 was given by the RKI as 948.

That was one more death than the day before.

With the exception of the Saar-Palatinate district, all districts had seven-day incidence values between 100 and 200.

The federal government's new corona emergency brake has been in effect since Saturday - for example, with nightly exit restrictions from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. from an incidence of 100 on 3 consecutive days in a district or an urban district. The current figures from the RKI are decisive for this.

According to the Federal Ministry of Health's vaccination dashboard, 25.3 percent of almost a million Saarlanders had been vaccinated at least once and 8.0 percent had been completely vaccinated by Saturday morning (as of 9.40 a.m.).

In a comparison of the federal states, the Saarland was first for first vaccinations and third for complete vaccinations.

In relation to the population, the country has reportedly received more vaccine than any other state.

Some federal states particularly affected by mutations, including Saarland, received additional deliveries.
