Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The number of corona infections in Brandenburg has fallen, but is still at a high level.

Health officials reported 461 new cases on Saturday after 557 infections on Friday.

On Thursday there were 829 infections, a week ago 555 new corona cases.

The number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week fell slightly across the country from 133.8 on Friday to 129.5, as the Ministry of Health announced.

A week ago it was 129.8.

The Spree-Neisse district with a seven-day incidence of 240.1 remains the focus of corona. It is currently the only circle that is above the 200 mark. The threshold for the closure of schools and daycare centers falls after the federal emergency brake, which has been in force since Saturday, from a seven-day incidence over 200 to 165, then emergency care applies. The primary schools in Cottbus and the districts of Oder-Spree and Spree-Neisse have to close as early as Monday, because the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week for 3 days in a row there was over 165 between Tuesday and Thursday.

Currently, only the districts of Barnim (67.5) and Prignitz (97.2) are below 100.

The other districts and urban districts exceeded the seven-day incidence of over 100 from Tuesday to Thursday - this is decisive for the applicable federal emergency brake. There is a nightly exit restriction from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and stricter contact restrictions due to the so-called emergency brake.

Between a seven-day incidence of 100 and 150, shopping with a negative test and an appointment is possible.

This also applies to hardware stores that were previously open.

Supermarkets, drug stores and pharmacies remain open.

With the state's emergency brake, shopping by appointment was only possible up to an incidence of 100 in Brandenburg.

Barber shops and foot care remain open at a value of over 100 with a negative test and an FFP2 mask.
