Bremen (dpa / lni) - The German police union in Bremen has criticized the night curfews to combat pandemics.

These presented the police with major problems, said state chairman Jürn Schulze on Friday.

The measures come too late because at the present time the understanding and acceptance of the regulations among the population is declining.

In addition, the enforcement of the measures will continue to strain the already thin staffing of the Bremen police, warned Schulze.

He reckons with "loads of overtime" and personal and health stress for the emergency services in view of permanent services during the night.

The DPolG chief appealed not to let out criticism and displeasure about the curfew on the emergency services, who have the duty to enforce compliance with the law.
