The European Statistics Office (Eurostat) said that about 14,000 unaccompanied children applied for asylum in the European Union countries during the past year 2020.

On Friday, the European Office stated that 13,600 children had applied for asylum in the countries of the Union during the past year.

According to the office, 10% of minors who applied for asylum are unaccompanied children, and 88% are males.

He explained that 22% are between 14 and 15 years old, and 11% are under 14 years old.

He added that two-thirds of the children came from Afghanistan, Syria and Pakistan.
