Chemnitz (dpa / sn) - After two sexual assaults on young women in Chemnitz, the police arrested a suspect.
According to personal descriptions from witnesses and victims, a 29-year-old could be identified on Friday night, the police said.
He is suspected of pushing a young woman into the basement of an apartment building and performing sexual acts on her on Wednesday.
When a resident came into the basement, the perpetrator let go of his victim and fled.
On Thursday, a man pushed a young person into her apartment and tried to assault her.
Because the youngster struggled and screamed, the perpetrator disappeared.
The police are investigating suspected rape and attempted sexual abuse of young people.
A police spokesman said it is currently being checked whether an arrest warrant should be applied for against the 29-year-old.
