Greifswald (dpa / mv) - The Higher Administrative Court (OVG) in Greifswald has overturned the curfew anchored in the Corona state ordinance for regions with high corona incidences.

It assessed them as a disproportionate and serious interference with the general freedom of action, as it was said in a statement on Friday.

From Saturday, however, curfews according to the recently amended Federal Infection Protection Act will come into force.

After the ruling, the curfews in several regions of the country are only in effect for a short time.

The Federal Infection Protection Act passed this week will come into force from midnight on Saturday.

It provides for such restrictions for regions in which the seven-day incidence - number of new infections within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants - last exceeded the threshold of 100 on three consecutive days.
