Heidelberg (dpa / lsw) - In the process of a faked suicide, the Heidelberg public prosecutor has demanded life imprisonment for the accused wife of the victim and her former employee.

As a feature of the attempted murder, the prosecution cited the greed and treachery of the two women, who wanted to get the man's inheritance through the act, in front of the regional court on Friday.

According to the prosecution, their plans were thwarted because the man, who had been sedated by the liquor, woke up when the former employee cut him a six-inch cut on his forearm.

The man from Angelbachtal (Rhein-Neckar-Kreis) was saved by an emergency operation.

The defense demanded an acquittal for the wife, who stated in the process that she had nothing to do with the act in May 2020 and thus blamed the perpetrators on the alleged accomplice.

For the latter, their defender saw the fact of dangerous bodily harm as a given and pleaded for a mild punishment, without being specific.

There was no intent to kill.

The wife should pay a fine for a fictitious attack that was supposed to direct the evidence for the crime to third parties, suggested her defense lawyer.

In the case of life imprisonment, there is the option of having a release examined after 15 years.

The verdict will be announced next Wednesday.
