Leicester raised its score to 59 points from 32 games, four points ahead of Chelsea and West Ham United in fourth place, to close to qualifying for the Champions League next season.

The match saw French player Wesley Fofana exit in the 60th minute, and Leicester Brunden Rodgers returned to this substitution in a statement after the end of the match.

Rodgers confirmed Wesley Fofana was brought off after an hour because he's currently fasting for Ramadan - and he wanted to protect his young defender who hadn't eaten or drank since sunrise pic.twitter.com/kXI1BLJsmI

"I decided to replace him because he did not eat all day, because we are currently in the month of Ramadan," Rodgers said in comments reported by Sportbible. Or drink it all day long. "

"He finds an amazing strength to play continuously and train during Ramadan. He is a special talent and a great player for us," he added, praising the 20-year-old defender.

"I have worked with many players who are committed to their beliefs, and many of them derive their strength from that."
