Karlsruhe / Würzburg (dpa / lsw) - After two positive corona tests at the Würzburger Kickers, the second division game can take place this Friday (6.30 p.m. / Sky) at Karlsruher SC.

As the bottom of the table from Lower Franconia announced on Friday, the PCR tests of all players on Thursday are negative.

"We are all relieved by the results of the test series and are happy to be able to compete at Karlsruher SC this evening as planned," said Würzburg's sports director Sebastian Schuppan.

There was initially no comment from the German Football League.

After two positive tests for the virus, the players affected, who showed no symptoms on Thursday afternoon, "immediately went into domestic isolation," the club wrote on Thursday.

The Kickers asked to respect the privacy of the players and did not say who was affected.

All other results of the test series were negative.

At the KSC, however, the quick test of a member of the function team turned out positive on Thursday, as a spokesman for the dpa confirmed.

The person concerned had no contact with the team and immediately went into isolation, it said.
