Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The nocturnal exit restriction imposed by the city of Wuppertal is legal after a court order.

According to its own statements, the administrative court in Düsseldorf rejected an urgent application by a Wuppertaler against the general decree of the city (AZ 26 L 897/21).

The measures taken so far have not even come close to reaching the target of less than 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days aimed at by the legislature for the traceability of infections and for the capacities of hospitals.

For weeks the value has been above 100, on Friday even at 257.1.

Since the routes of infection cannot be localized or narrowed down to certain events, it only seems logical to limit people's personal contacts to what is absolutely necessary.

The court stated that the principle of proportionality would be respected.

The exit restriction concerns times when citizens usually stayed in the apartment.

Visits to the cinema and similar leisure activities are not permitted anyway due to the regulations in the Corona Protection Ordinance.

In addition, the general decree of the city of Wuppertal provides for numerous exceptional cases from the general exit restriction.
