Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) has urged the Hessian population to adhere to the new and significantly tightened corona measures.

"All these rules are only successful if people live them out of their own conviction," emphasized the head of government in Wiesbaden on Friday.

"There must be acceptance among the population."

Because of the continued high corona numbers, Bouffier emphasized the urgent need for the tightening, which will apply nationwide from Saturday.

«We are concerned that our health system will be overloaded.

We are concerned that if we do not drastically reduce the number of infections, the pandemic will become more and more prolonged with all these dire consequences, which we want to avoid. "

The Prime Minister emphasized that the federal states had no way of circumventing or lowering the rules of the new Infection Protection Act.

The current figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) are decisive for all steps.

The federal emergency brake should be pulled if the number of reported new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a district or a city is over 100 within seven days for three days in a row. Then people are usually no longer allowed to leave their own apartment after 10:00 p.m. Walking and jogging alone are allowed until midnight. According to the new Infection Protection Act, no more than one household can meet with one other person, with the exception of children up to 14 years of age.

Shops are only allowed to open to customers who present a negative corona test and have booked an appointment.

Classroom teaching in schools should usually be stopped at an incidence of 165.

Exceptions are possible for final classes and special needs schools.

This brake value of 165 also applies to daycare centers.

The nationwide regulations will initially apply until June 30th.

Depending on how the numbers are in a district or in an independent city, the federal law has a corresponding effect, said the CDU politician.

It doesn't matter how the whole state of Hesse is developing.

The measures will vary from district to district based on the incidence.
