Berlin (dpa / bb) - At a three-day party conference, the Berlin Left wants to position itself personally and programmatically for the election to the House of Representatives on September 26th.

From this afternoon (from 4 p.m.) to Saturday, the election program is the first thing to do, followed by the election of the state list by Sunday.

The party leadership had already nominated Senator for Culture Klaus Lederer as the top candidate in December.

He had already led the left in the 2016 election campaign.

Both party chairman Katina Schubert and Lederer had recently made it clear that their party would like to continue the coalition with the SPD and the Greens.

But they also see points of conflict with both partners, for example in transport policy or the debt brake, which the left would like to abolish.
