Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - At the Technical University (TH) Georg Siegfried Ohm in Nuremberg, a new "School of Health" was opened on Friday.

The Ministry of Science announced on Friday that the first students in the new subjects of midwifery science and digital health management will begin there in the winter semester.

Nuremberg is the home of high-tech medicine, said Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) at the opening.

"With the Nürnberg School of Health, the Medical Valley of the metropolitan region is getting another beacon," he emphasized.

"The corona pandemic has taught us how important a functioning health system is for our society."

The "School of Health" is supported jointly by the Technical University and the Nuremberg Clinic.

"In the future, we need more skilled workers to ensure high-quality health care provision for the population," said Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU).

“We will therefore have to modernize the health professions over the next few years,” he emphasized.
