The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety today (23rd) announces the conditional approval of two types of COVID-19 self-test kits.
This will allow temporary use until official permission.
Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki delivered the same message at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting at the Seoul Government Complex this morning.
Prime Minister Hong emphasized, "If the gene amplification (PCR) test is a microscopic observation with 100% accuracy, the self-test kit needs to be used as an auxiliary test tool as the accuracy difference is comparable to that of a bare eye test."
