The House of Representatives of the British Parliament has adopted a resolution calling on the British government to take action, saying that China's Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region continues to "genocide" with the intention of destroying ethnic groups and other groups.

The House of Representatives of the United Kingdom discussed human rights issues in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on the 22nd.

A series of criticisms from lawmakers, such as "in addition to inhumane crimes, genocide such as extortion and torture of sterilization continues," adopted a resolution calling on the British government to take action under international law. ..

The resolution is not legally binding.

Last month, the United Kingdom announced that it would impose sanctions on officials of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region over human rights issues, and China announced that it would impose sanctions on members of the British House of Representatives as a countermeasure.

This resolution was submitted by a member of the Diet who was subject to sanctions.

The Chinese embassy in the United Kingdom has strongly opposed the resolution, commenting that it is "interference with domestic affairs."
