Düsseldorf / Munich (dpa) - Investigators searched apartments on Thursday in North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria on suspicion of terrorist financing.

The suspicion is directed against three suspects between the ages of 32 and 40, said a spokesman for the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor's Office on dpa request.

In addition, one investigates suspicions of fraud and infidelity.

One of the accused is a lawyer.

The investigation and the evaluation of the seized evidence continued.

The searches took place in the greater Düsseldorf area and in the greater Munich area.

According to the "Spiegel", the lawyer is said to have kept a trust account for the Ansaar International association, which has long been observed by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

Six-digit amounts have flowed through this account.

The public prosecutor's office did not want to comment on this with reference to a further preliminary investigation.

The association is classified as extremist Salafist by the constitution protection of North Rhine-Westphalia in the most recent annual report.
