The Ivorian General Staff of the Armies speaks of “

unidentified individuals

” having opened fire on the guard posts of the N'Dotré military base.

The attack began around 1 a.m., confirm the residents.

They did indeed hear exchanges of fire between 1 and 3 a.m., on the night of April 20 to 21.

Some even claim that the shooting continued much later that night.

The inhabitants of the area also testify to movements of troops and vehicles all around the military camp.

This Wednesday afternoon, calm has returned, the inhabitants go about their business quietly, even if there are barricades at the entrance to the camp and soldiers on duty.

The identity of the attackers remains unknown.

General Lassina Doumbia, Chief of the General Staff of the Armies, specifies that they wanted to force entry into the base, before being pushed back by the sentries.

The fighting left one injured among the Ivorian forces, three dead and one wounded - now a prisoner - on the side of the attackers.

Equipment was also seized.
