Erfurt (dpa / th) - The infection protection law with the federal emergency brake is controversial among the Thuringian parliamentary groups.

FDP parliamentary group leader Thomas Kemmerich criticized the planned curfew in the state parliament in Erfurt on Wednesday as disproportionate.

This also applies to school closings, while on the other hand the Federal Horticultural Show in Erfurt should open on Friday.

Kemmerich and the chairman of the AfD, Björn Höcke, called on the red-red-green state government not to let the law pass in the Federal Council this Thursday.

The Bundestag passed the law on Wednesday.

State Secretary Malte Krückels, who is responsible for federal affairs, reaffirmed in parliament that the state government did not want to submit or support any application for a mediation process.

Thuringia will adapt its state corona ordinance to the requirements of the law at short notice when it comes into force, said Krückels.

Representatives from the Left, SPD, Greens and CDU advocated not only using the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days as a basis for restrictions, but also criteria such as the vaccination rate or the availability of intensive care beds.

The parliamentary group and state chairman of the Left, Steffen Dittes said, "the discussion about the limit values also shows that scientific recommendations one year after the start of the pandemic are not yet of the necessary importance".

With a seven-day incidence of 100, openings are to be withdrawn according to the law.

Schools and daycare centers are expected to close at an incidence of 165.
