Erfurt (dpa / th) - In Erfurt, the search for a corona test center for visitors to the Federal Horticultural Show (Buga) continues.

Contrary to previous considerations, the Erfurt theater could not be used for this, said a spokeswoman for the city administration on Wednesday.

Since the rehearsals are also running there, it is difficult to use it as a test center.

However, other options are being examined, the spokeswoman said.

MDR Thuringia had previously reported.

However, visitors could also bring a negative, officially certified corona test result with them for admission, the report said.

The opening of the big flower show is planned for this Friday. Due to the corona pandemic, it is small, for example, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will not take part, as the city administration had announced with reference to the Federal President's Office. The Buga program will initially only be available in a scaled-down form and with conditions to contain the pandemic. Visitors have to purchase tickets in advance and register in advance so that the flow of visitors can be monitored and controlled.

After the emergency brake decided by the Bundestag on Wednesday to fight the virus nationwide, Buga visitors will also have to present a current negative corona test result for access to the outdoor areas of the two Buga main locations in Erfurt.

The amended Infection Protection Act, which regulates the emergency brake, could probably take effect on Saturday at the earliest.

Before that can happen, the regulations must pass the Federal Council on Thursday, but this is considered likely.

In addition, Federal President Steinmeier has to sign the law.

It is unclear whether that will happen on Thursday because the law - like every other law - will first be examined in the presidential office.

The publication in the Federal Law Gazette could possibly take place on the same day as the signing.

The emergency brake should be pulled if the number of reported new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a district or a city is over 100 for three consecutive days within seven days.

This has been the case in Erfurt for a long time.

According to the State Chancellery, the value on Wednesday was around 170.
