Cemeteries in Tehran from 4 floors to accommodate the increasing number of Corona deaths

Media reports stated that the central "Behesht Al-Zahra" cemetery in the Iranian capital had built four-story cemeteries to accommodate the increasing number of deaths due to infection with the Coronavirus.

Media outlets published a picture of the new graves today, but there has been no immediate comment from the authorities in Tehran or the administration of the cemetery itself on the reports.

This is strange in Iran, and it is not clear how people will react to it.

Behesht al-Zahra (which means Paradise of Zahra, referring to Mrs. Fata, daughter of the Prophet Muhammad) received a record number of deaths yesterday.

The director of the cemetery told the Iranian "Elna" agency: "We have received 350 deaths, including 150 due to Corona virus. We have not recorded such a large number of deaths in one day for 50 years."
