Rostock (dpa / mv) - The number of new corona infections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania remains at a high level.

As the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced, 492 new infections were reported on Thursday.

Six more people died from coronavirus infection, bringing the country's death toll to 956.

The incidence increased by 3.4 to 141.2 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week compared to the previous day.

At 191.8, the seven-day incidence is currently highest in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, while the Mecklenburg Lake District and Ludwigslust-Parchim districts have only slightly lower values ​​at 187.9 and 187.5, respectively.

Only the Hanseatic city of Rostock is below the value of 100 with 80.8.

The total number of corona infections detected so far in the northeast is 37,880. Around 32,171 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of corona patients treated in clinics is currently 391 - 21 more than the day before.

88 corona patients were in intensive care units, nine more than on Tuesday.
