“For the decision on Syria, which is co-authored by the UK, 87 people voted at the conference of the OPCW member states.

The decision suspends a number of the rights and privileges of Syria in the OPCW, ”the British Permanent Mission to the OPCW said on its Twitter page.

The 25th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the OPCW is being held in The Hague on April 20-22.

During this session, France presented a draft resolution, which provides for the suspension of the rights and privileges of Syria in the organization due to the alleged violation by Damascus of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
