Kiel (dpa / lno) - A 21-year-old has to answer for an illegal car race in downtown Kiel on Wednesday (11.00 a.m.) in front of the Kiel district court.

According to the indictment, he ran over a red light in the race on May 11, 2020.

He crashed into a bus with right of way in his luxury car and then thrown against a street sign.

The bus driver was reportedly injured.

There was considerable damage to property.

According to the indictment, the crime scene of the forbidden race was the Kieler Werftstrasse.

The second driver, who is also said to have driven a luxury car, has not yet been identified.

The indictment concerns an unauthorized car race in unity with danger to road traffic and negligent bodily harm.

For this there is a risk of a fine or imprisonment of up to five years.
