Mainz (dpa / lrs) - According to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, more than 100,000 corona vaccinations have now been administered in medical practices in Rhineland-Palatinate.

On Wednesday morning, the exact number was 108,945, announced the KV, citing the Robert Koch Institute.

“The fact that the 100,000 mark has been broken is a first milestone.

Our members and their practice teams are doing a great job, ”said KV board chairman Peter Heinz.

1654 practices in Rhineland-Palatinate, most of them general practitioners, have intervened in the vaccination process.

However, it could be a lot more if more vaccine was made available, the KV said.

Heinz criticized that a practice for a Covid-19 vaccination should charge 20 euros - "a fraction of the remuneration that is paid in vaccination centers".

With this amount, the “burdensome additional effort” of the practice team is not adequately remunerated.

The KV also demanded that the contracted doctor's practices be no longer bound by a prioritization sequence.

"Doctors know best the potential danger posed by their patients and act accordingly responsibly," said Heinz.
