“I, of course, highly appreciate the fact that this message is practically entirely devoted to the internal issues of the country's development. This is a message from the President of a country that is developing regardless of external circumstances, which is self-sufficient in its development and which continues to implement the fundamental provisions of the Constitution of Russia in its new edition, despite unfavorable external conditions. I consider the key phrase in the President's message: "We will not cancel the strategic goals." Here in the part in which they were announced, and in terms of social support for the population, solving issues of the country's long-term development, both social and economic - all these goals, tasks remain, they are all relevant, and, moreover, for a number of them there is an increase in the efforts of the state to move forward, ”the senator explained.
According to Kosachev, if we talk about the international part, then, in his opinion, it is also important in every word.
“Here, as the main phrase, I would single out the president’s words that Russia seeks to have good relations with all external partners without exception, even with those who are trying to build a confrontational policy towards Russia, even with those who trying to cross some red lines.
Crossing red lines is by definition impossible.
Our answer, as the President put it, will always be tough, quick, it will be asymmetric.
But this will be the answer, we will never take any proactive confrontational actions in relation to external partners, ”concluded Kosachev.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his message to the Federal Assembly, promised an asymmetrical and tough response if someone wants to burn bridges in relations with Russia.
