April 21, 2021 "No backtracking, the Government wants to reopen the schools, and is aiming for 100% of the students in the classroom but there is a problem that concerns transport and that the previous government has somewhat forgotten", said Mariastella Gelmini , Minister of Regional Affairs to the microphones of RTL 102.5. "We have set up a table with Giovannini, Regions and local authorities. It starts from 60%, there will be peaks of 75%, someone will do it 100%, - he said - an objective that we will progressively achieve".

From Monday 11 yellow zones

From Monday the yellow areas will return and perhaps they will be "a few more than the eleven planned", underlined Gelmini: "This makes us happy because it means that there is a reduction in the number of infections and in the number of beds in intensive care. it will not be a 'free all' - he warned - in the past we made mistakes, we went from one lockdown to another. This time we must not make mistakes ". The yellow areas, the minister insisted, are

"a conquest of the Italians". With "the sacrifices made, we have recovered spaces of freedom that we must however manage with great caution because the virus is invisible but it exists".

Curfew

"The curfew evokes bad things, in all of us there is the will to overcome it, but it takes graduality to prevent the virus from restarting. We have proposed 10 pm because we have listened to the CTS. The Government is confident that the correct behavior they will lead to passing from 10pm to 11pm, then to midnight and then take it off, but I don't feel like giving times ".

On vaccines

"We are committed in one direction: vaccinating, vaccinating, vaccinating. The doses are finally arriving and the collaboration between General Figliuolo and the Regions is continuing well: there is synergy and teamwork". The minister for regional affairs, Mariastella Gelmini, assured this by speaking to RTL 102.5. "The doses do not remain in the refrigerator but are administered and we must thank all health workers", he added, underlining that "the sooner we vaccinate, the sooner we secure the country and return to normal".

"The government has brought vaccinations from 100-150 thousand per day to over 350 thousand and we hope to soon reach 400 thousand doses per day", continued Gelmini. "We are securing the lives of the most vulnerable and elderly people - he added - we are rushing to vaccinate those who, by contracting the virus, could have very serious consequences. This should lead us in a few weeks to a strong reduction of deaths, but the virus circulates among us and caution and prudence will measure the spaces of freedom of today, but also of tomorrow. There is not only a responsibility of the Government, it is a collective responsibility that concerns the behavior of each of we".

The Green Pass

"I phoned Kompatscher and invited him to be careful, we will have to challenge that law. It is not yet time for that measure", said Gelmini about the green pass launched by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. "The government is thinking of the green pass, with the three criteria (negative buffer, recovery, vaccination, ed), but national rules are needed, not regional ones. You know that I don't like to challenge regional ordinances. The green pass will be a revolution, a change of pace ", concluded Gelmini.
