Erfurt (dpa) - Shortly before the planned start of the Federal Horticultural Show (Buga) in Erfurt on Friday, the chances for a general opening are good despite the Corona crisis.

According to a recommendation for a resolution to amend the Infection Protection Act, opening at least the outside areas should be possible, according to the Thuringian State Chancellery.

The Bundestag Health Committee issued a recommendation for a resolution on changes to the Infection Protection Act on Monday. There should be a nationwide emergency brake in the fight against the corona pandemic. The draft resolution states, among other things, that the outdoor areas of zoos and botanical gardens may be opened «if appropriate protection and hygiene concepts are observed and the visitor receives a negative result within 24 hours before the start of the visit by means of a recognized Tests carried out testing for infection with the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus is presented. " An earlier draft stipulated that botanical gardens should generally be closed from a certain infection level without distinguishing between indoor and outdoor areas.

It is still unclear whether the change in the law will come this way and when it will come into force.

It would also be conceivable, for example, that it will only become valid on Monday.

Then the Buga in Erfurt could initially open for three days subject to the Thuringian Corona rules.

These still provide for many restrictions and hygiene requirements for the visitors themselves;

According to the current framework, a negative corona test would not be a prerequisite for admission to one of the two fenced main locations in Erfurt.

In addition to the main areas in Erfurt, there are a total of 25 external Buga locations, many of which are garden monuments and parks that are freely accessible anyway.

The big flower show is planned from April 23 to October 10.
