Berlin (dpa) - Deutsche Bahn is preparing for vaccinations in its own company.

A spokeswoman said the group wants to set up vaccination centers at at least ten locations in Germany, at which the employees are to be vaccinated by the company doctors.

"The first are now being built in Munich and Nuremberg."

No other locations were known at first.

Which vaccine will be used has not yet been determined.

As soon as enough vaccine is available, as many “systemically important employees as possible should receive a vaccination offer from their employer”.

The group assumes that around half of the employees in Germany are classified as systemically relevant.

Many of them belong to group 3 in the federal corona vaccination regulation.

This includes 60 to 70 year olds and people with a medical history.

Health Minister Jens Spahn announced on Monday that company doctors could be supplied with vaccines from June.

The background to this are further delivery commitments by the manufacturers.

In addition to the regional vaccination centers in the federal states, general practitioners have also been vaccinating since shortly after Easter and have contributed to a significant increase in vaccinations.

Company doctors are now to follow.

At Deutsche Bahn, Personnel Director Martin Seiler emphasized with regard to vaccinations in his own company: "The decision to vaccinate is voluntary, there will be no vaccination privileges, neither for employees nor for customers."
