Wiesbaden / Berlin (dpa / lhe) - A further 2178 infections with the corona virus have been reported in Hesse.
The number of deaths associated with the virus increased by 27 to a total of 6,675, according to data from the Berlin Robert Koch Institute on Wednesday (as of 3:09 a.m.)
A total of 246 957 infections have been detected across the country since the start of the corona pandemic.
The incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past 7 days, increased to 156.8.
On the day before it was 156.1.
The incidence was highest on Wednesday with a value of 288.5 in the Limburg-Weilburg district.
In the city of Offenbach, the value was reportedly 287.8, in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district 249.3.
According to data from the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine as of Wednesday (as of 7.19 a.m.), there were 455 Covid 19 patients in the intensive care units of Hessian hospitals, 213 of whom were ventilated.
1724 of 1947 available intensive care beds were occupied, including by people with other diseases.
