“Consultations on resuming implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program have been positive, but there is still a long way to go,” Price said.

He noted that the United States and Iran have a common goal of returning to mutual adherence to the JCPOA.

A State Department spokesman said that the head of the American delegation, US special envoy for Iran Robert Malley "is studying specific approaches to the steps that will need to be taken by both Iran and the United States to return to compliance with the JCPOA."

Earlier, Russia's Permanent Representative to Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, spoke about negotiations on a nuclear deal with Iran.
