The meetings between Brive in La Rochelle and Bayonne in Castres, scheduled for Saturday on the occasion of the 22nd day of Top 14, are postponed to a later date after cases of Covid-19 in Brive and Castres, announced Tuesday the National League rugby.

Today's opening match between Bordeaux-Bègles and Montpellier, initially scheduled for Friday, is meanwhile postponed to Sunday due to new contaminations in the Gironde workforce, but without a specific schedule for the moment.

"An update will be made Thursday at the end of the day after new control tests within the workforce of the Union Bordeaux-Bègles", said the National Rugby League (LNR) in a press release.

The delay continues to grow for the French championship after already four postponements last week before the 21st day for reasons still related to the virus.

With two matches now postponed, Brive is the club with the most delay to catch up.

His duel against Clermont, scheduled for last week, had already been postponed due to six contaminations in its workforce.

The CAB reported eight new infections on Tuesday.

The NRL has formalized the postponement dates for three of the six late matches.

The Bayonne - Castres duel (matchday 22) is scheduled for Thursday April 29 (8:45 p.m.).

The matches of the 21st day between Racing 92 at the French Stadium and Clermont at Brive must take place on Saturday May 1 at 2 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. respectively.

Bordeaux-Bègles and Montpellier being engaged in the semi-finals of European competitions during this same weekend, they must in principle play their game late in the 21st day, respectively against Agen and Toulon, on Tuesday 11 May.

But the date is subject to change depending on their result on the continental scene and whether or not their confrontation postponed to Sunday.

Another late match, Brive - La Rochelle (22nd day), is also set for May 11, according to details from the NRL.
