See how the Swedish Transport Administration intends for the railway to run and where the station in Borås ends up in the clip above.

The railway took far too long.

Ulf Olsson (S), chairman of the municipal board in Borås, has the definite opinion.

- We have no functioning railway between Western Sweden's two largest cities.

Now is the time for us to get to that railway, he says.

The planned railway between Gothenburg and Borås is part of the planned high-speed line.

In the autumn, SVT Nyheter Väst reported that the Swedish Transport Administration had investigated four possible station locations for Borås.

The city of Borås was against the alternative with a station at Knalleland.

Ulf Olsson (S) then said that it was not central enough and would entail "enormous interventions" in the urban environment.

Investigated underground station

The Swedish Transport Administration has also investigated a possible station in the city center.

A station in a tunnel underground, at least 60 meters below the ground.

- Such a tunnel solution under Borås had both become very costly, but also involved major interventions in the city, says Sara Distner, program manager for Project Gothenburg-Borås at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Did not want a station at Knalleland

The Swedish Transport Administration is now primarily proposing a station location in Osdal, approximately four kilometers south of Borås.

The idea is that the high-speed trains will stop there and then move on.

The commuter trains, on the other hand, are led into Borås Central via a subway.

In the alternative, a station is proposed at Lusharpan, located south of highway 40. There is also a station on a subway.

Up to and including 11 June, it is possible to submit comments on the Swedish Transport Administration's proposal.

In the end, it is the government that decides which corridor the railway should go into.
