Cottbus (AP) - Ex-Bundesliga club Energie Cottbus meets SV Babelsberg 03 in the semifinals of the Brandenburg Football Cup. That was the result of the draw on Tuesday.
Union Fürstenwalde and FSV Luckenwalde agree on the second finalists.
The game will be played on May 8th and 9th.
The Brandenburg State Football Association had previously decided that the State Cup would only be continued with the four regional league clubs.
The regional league players are recognized as professional athletes and can currently train and play under strict hygiene measures during the corona pandemic in Brandenburg.
In contrast, this is currently prohibited to amateur clubs by the corona protection rules.
Upper division Ludwigsfelder FC and the Brandenburg division MSV 1919 Neuruppin, 1. FC Frankfurt (Oder) and SV Frankonia Wernsdorf could not make the quarter-finals.
They should receive financial compensation from the association for their waiver.
