KLT's survey, which was conducted between 12 and 16 April, was carried out so that passengers who connected to the bus' wifi network automatically received a questionnaire with questions about mouth protection.

2538 chose to answer, and 58 percent of respondents said they wore mouth guards on the bus.

When SVT conducted its own sample survey in February of compliance with the Swedish Public Health Agency's oral protection recommendation during rush hour, as few as 2 out of 10 wore mouth protection.

But since then, the infection control doctor in Kalmar has introduced stricter recommendations in Kalmar County and now compliance seems to be better.

Did not experience any congestion

Of the 41 percent who stated that they did not use a mouth guard on the bus, a fourth answered that they did not feel that there was any risk of congestion on the bus, and approximately one in five had forgotten their mouth guard at home.

About 8 percent of respondents did not believe that mouth protection helped, according to KLT.

The recommendation to use a mouth guard only applies to travelers over 16 years of age.
