Studies show that pregnant women who become infected with the corona virus have a higher risk of developing serious Covid-19.

It also increases the risk of complications during pregnancy and premature birth.

WORLD:

Is it easier for pregnant women to get infected with the corona virus?

Dr. Marianne Röbl-Mathieu:

In fact, pregnant women are not infected more easily than non-pregnant women. But they actually have an increased risk of a severe course, especially if certain risk factors are present, e.g. old age, pronounced obesity, i.e. being very overweight. Or if you have a pre-existing high blood pressure disease or diabetes mellitus already existed before pregnancy.
