Halle (dpa / sa) - As of today, nighttime exit restrictions apply again in Halle.

Between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., people in the city are only allowed to leave their homes for important reasons.

The regulation was announced by the city administration on Monday.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) had already determined a seven-day incidence of over 200 in the city on Sunday for the fifth day in a row, it was said to justify.

The last time there were exit restrictions in Halle was at the beginning of April.

The seven-day incidence includes the number of new infections with the coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants within a week and was 219.5 on Monday in Halle according to RKI figures.

Criticism of the exit restriction came from the FDP in Saxony-Anhalt: “Curfews are not compatible with the Basic Law.

Therefore, I consider the planned curfew in Halle to be unconstitutional, ”said Andreas Silbersack, the FDP's direct candidate for the state election.

The measure is not proportionate because the risk of infection in the open air is low.

"Numerous courts in Germany have rightly overturned them."
