Rostock (dpa / mv) - The Rostock Seawolves have the chance to jump into the basketball Bundesliga.

In the promotion round, coach Dirk Bauermann's team achieved a 78:66 (36:32) win against Artland Dragons on Tuesday and thus their first win in the second group game.

The two top teams of the four-man squadrons are promoted to the BBL.

Best Seawolves thrower was Trevor Marquese Lacey (18 points).

Rostock started the game with a 6-0 series and did not give up the lead in the further course.

At the end of the first quarter, the lead was already ten points, but the guests were able to significantly reduce the gap until the break and thus keep the duel open.

In the second half, the Seawolves got off to a better start and at times set themselves apart from their opponents with eleven points.

Nevertheless, the Seawolves had to fear after the 68:64 in the meantime, but then Trevor Marquese Lacey, Yakhchali Dekordi and Sid-Marlon Theis made the decision with seven points in a row.

The third game will take place next Friday (7.30 p.m.) at Bayer Giants Leverkusen.
