We would like our students to say yes to their places now, so that we get a record number of accepted students for our courses and programs as well, says Margareta Bachrack Lindström, vice-rector at Linköping University.
The figure can be compared with the most recent record listing in 2014, when there were 45,341 applicants.
Last year, 42,871 applied.
