Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly began today, Tuesday, an official visit to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, at the head of an official delegation of 75 people, including 11 ministers.

The delegation arrived at the headquarters of the Libyan Cabinet Office, and was received by the Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, and a number of his cabinet ministers.

It is expected that the Egyptian delegation will discuss with the Libyan side a number of files and issues of mutual interest and cooperation between the two countries.

In addition to the ministers, the delegation includes prominent Egyptian businessmen and investors.

The visit is expected to witness the signing of a number of agreements in the fields of energy and electricity and an increase in Egyptian investments in Libya.

This is the first visit to Libya by an Egyptian official as prime minister since 2010.

The visit comes after the parties to the political crisis in Libya agreed on a unified executive authority, which includes a government headed by Dabaiba and a presidential council headed by exile, to lead the country to parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled for December 24th.
