As a countermeasure against the new coronavirus, the government is considering issuing a declaration to three prefectures including Osaka and Hyogo, which are coordinating the request, in addition to Osaka, which requested the issuance of a state of emergency, with the governor. We would like to work together to take effective measures.

On the 20th, Osaka Prefecture issued a state of emergency, saying that it is necessary to take stronger measures in response to the situation where the rapid spread of infection in the prefecture has not stopped and the medical pressure is becoming more serious. I requested the country.

Prime Minister Suga told reporters on the night of the 20th, "Osaka Prefecture has requested a declaration and the government is responding. I would like to scrutinize the situation, consider the contents of the measures, and make a prompt decision." I did.

Based on the fact that the government will respect the request as much as possible in the incidental resolution of the revised Special Measures Law, in addition to Osaka, it targets three prefectures including Tokyo and Hyogo, which are coordinating the request. We are considering issuing a declaration.

Also, when the declaration is issued, Osaka Prefecture wants to request closure of large-scale customer attraction facilities such as commercial facilities and theme parks in order to reduce the number of people, and specializes in infectious diseases. I would like to take effective measures in cooperation with the governor while listening to the opinions of the house.

If the declaration is issued to the three prefectures, it will be the third time since April last year and January this year, and Prime Minister Suga and related ministers will soon discuss and decide the policy.
