Rehlingen-Siersburg (dpa / lrs) - The 36-year-old driver of a concrete mixer was seriously injured in an accident near Siersburg (Saarlouis district).
The truck came off the road on Tuesday morning for an initially unexplained cause, as the police announced in the evening.
The vehicle skid and overturned.
The driver was reportedly trapped and rescued by the volunteer fire brigade.
Rescue workers took him to the hospital.
According to police, concrete did not leak, but fuel seeped into the ground.
Two cranes recovered the vehicle, which weighed tons, and the affected highway was completely closed for almost eight hours.
The truck suffered an economic total loss.
