Gießen / Kassel (dpa / lhe) - In a state competition for special commitment in Corona times, two associations from the Gießen region and the Diakonie Kassel were awarded.

There have been around 400 projects in total, announced the DAK health insurance company in Frankfurt on Tuesday for its “Faces for healthy togetherness” competition.

In the “Health” category, the Giessener Nordstadtverein won, which offers overweight people weekly meetings including coaching.

The Lich Basketball near Gießen association supports people shopping for example with its “Guides in the Corona Crisis” project, for which it was awarded in the “Society” category.

The victory in the area of ​​“digitization” went to the Diakonie Kassel for its film project “An active everyday life”, which aims to motivate older and disabled people to exercise more.

In June, the national winners are to be chosen from all of the state winners.
