After several days of searching, little Mia was found healthy in a disused factory with her mother.

The factory located in Sainte-Croix in Switzerland, is occupied by a collective of artists.

"It is not a squat", assures its members who occupy the building with the agreement of the owner.

It was in a former disused music box factory, in Sainte-Croix in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, just behind the French border, that Mia and her mother were found on Sunday, after several days of intense search. It is a factory in full reconversion, occupied and fitted out. Much has been said about a "squat", but the reality is very different, as Europe 1 was able to see on the spot.

Cozy lounge, vinyls, hydroalcoholic gel, non-smoking building ... The collective of artists who have been living in the building for a year and a half occupies the premises with great respect.

"All you see is recycling," said one of the members of the collective.

The occupation is done with the agreement of the owner of the plant, provided that no one sleeps there, explain the people present in the place.

"Reverse extreme"

If everyone welcomed Mia and her mother, those present were not informed of the kidnapping, explain the artists.

Estelle, member of the collective, feels hurt to be assimilated to the profile of the kidnappers of the girl: "I received an insulting email last night which called me a kidnapper of children. It upset me," says she does.

Suspected for a time of being conspirators, survivalists or even of the extreme right, the members of the collective refute.

"I would almost say it's the opposite extreme," says Estelle.

The members recognize that it happened several times to welcome a runaway teenager, without asking too many questions.

This is probably why Mia's mother landed here, analyzes a member of the collective.
